    About

Pork For the Pantry is a community partnership started by Eddie Edward's Signs and Rockingham Cooperative whose mission is to support the hard work of the local 4-H and FFA members who personally raise local market animals for sale.  Livestock purchased at the Rockingham County 4-H & FFA Market Animal Sale through Pork For The Pantry are processed and the meat donated to those less fortunate in our community through the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

In 2018, six market hogs were purchased through Pork For The Pantry donating an estimated 750 pounds of fresh pork products to benefit the food bank and their efforts.

2019 brought great exposure and, with it, a great increase in the number of Pork For the Pantry community partners.  two hogs were bought at the Augusta County Market Animal Sale followed by nine hogs being purchased at the Rockingham County Market Animal Sale.  Having the support of our area partners is truly amazing, and shows us all the support that this community has for those less fortunate and for the 4-H & FFA youth!
